Looking ahead - Saturday, January 23, 2010 8:47 AM ( #1 )

I think I am with many other fans that would say this season has not been at all what we expected from the Wolverines. A tougher OOC schedule, poor shooting, inconsistent play and other reasons have led to some bad losses ( Alabama, Boston College, at Indiana, Northwestern, at Wisconsin).

We are 10-8 right now and still have a lot of games to go. Thcoaches and players all have to come to the realization that an NCAA tournament birth is slipping away. If getting back to the dance is a team goal, they need to step up starting now. IF, that happens, here is how I see the rest of our games going:

Losses: at Purdue, at OSU, at MSU
Wins: MSU, Iowa, at Northwestern, Wisconsin, At Minnesota, at Iowa, PSU, Illinios, Minnesota

I do think the team is capable of pulling this off. What does everyone else think?

For me it depends on which team shows up to play. Like RR said "rather win ugly than lose pretty ". The team as a whole need to do there part,if not we are so young that the season could be near.

In my opinion this is a pipe dream.  The team is not consistent enough to play a full game let alone win 9 of their last 12 games.  No way.  Manny's immaturity will probably blow up into something bigger and the defense won't come to play.  This team gets lazy and does not compete for a full game.  I had high hopes this year too but those were dashed early in the season.  I guess I will just start saying "There's always next year".  What I am really disappointed in is the hockey team.  I knew they were overrated in the preseason but they are awful this year.  Lots of talent but that doesn't guarantee wins.  The Michigan athletics program is in complete disarray right now.
