So was that a Pete Carroll recruit or Lane Kiffin? It wouldn't surprise me if it was Kiffin...

That doesn't make any sense though at all. What if the kid doesn't develop? There is a hell of a jump from 7th grade football to varsity ball. That's way too risky IMO.

And it isn't like the kid is growing up in SoCal...he is from Delaware. He is going all the way across the country and offering a scholarship to someone who may not have yet hit puberty. Kiffin is officially out of his mind.

This makes the 2nd middle schooler that has committed to Kiffin, Eric Berry's little brother "committed" earlier this year.

Stupid question, but is there anyway USC can get out of the scholarship offer?

WOW you guys are quick. I saw the story a bit ago myself and it has gone viral. Is there anything this guy would NOT do to advance himself at the expense of others? I mean, this guy needs to get run over by a bus! Granted, I admit that's a bit harsh but God Damn!

Where are the parents? Why would they let their 13 year old commit anywhere? Especially to a "coach" that is so untrustworthy. Do they see what these coaches are doing?

The parents are probably pushing this as much as everyone else. The kid has a professional personal coach that he goes to California and elsewhere to work with. What the heck is that about, for a 13 year old? It will be interesting to see if USC is still this kid's dream school if their football program gets hit with sanctions. I don't know what the rules are about scholarships, but knowing Kiffin, I'm sure he would weasel out of the offer somehow if he needed to.

pretty sure usc can pull his at anytime. not much of a risk for them but this is ridiculous. i think the ncaa needs to step in and set some sort of rules on when you can start recruiting or offering kids.

This just in, Kiffin made an official recruiting visit to the California Cryobank and offered 4 scholarships for the 2029 season.

How about how this kid's personal coach thinks Jimmah (whom he apparently mentored) is the LeBron James of football?! Clarkson said Kiffin asked him his opinion of the recruit and Clarkson said, "You might call me crazy, but you've known me a long time, right? And when I said if there was going to be a LeBron James of football it'd be Jimmy Clausen that turned out to be a pretty good prediction. Pretty good prediction my a$$!!!

The only way that this could qulaify as a good prediction would be if he made it when Clausen was 10 years old. He certainly is didn't turn out to be a superstar like LeBron, but he is a decent quarterback. If he saw that at a young age, then I would give him partial credit for his prediction.

^^^^^ Yes, but given the fact that Jimmah had 2 older brothers that played QB at the DI level, is it really much of a stretch to think that Jimmah wouldn't follow in their footsteps?
