Going into the UDM game, there are four players averaging double figures. Granted, the Big 10 will probably bring the stats down, but the last time Michigan had four players finish in double figures was 01/02. The only one of the four starters who isn't in double-digits is Jenny Ryan, but she's leading the team in rebounds instead. Through 10 games last season, U-M had three in double figures (zero finished with double digits). The team averaged 57.4 ppg and .366 fgp up to this point (which included matches against four top-25 teams). This season the team is averaging 73.6 ppg, and field goal percentage is at .474. I'm not sure that any of this means anything yet, but it's sure a lot more fun to root for a team that's putting up 16 more points on the board and making 10% more of their shots. Here's how Michigan finished in points per game by season the last 10 years: 2009 55.4 KB #2 2008 59.5 KB #1 2007 56.8 CB #4 2006 57.1 CB #3 (57.1 two years in a row? how weird is that?) 2005 57.1 CB #2 2004 60.9 CB #1 2003 65.4 SG #7 2002 71.3 SG #6 2001 68.4 SG #5 2000 72.7 SG #4

Speaking of points, KP, sitting at 858 for her career, needs two more games at her current rate to break into the top-25 Michigan career scoring list.

I thought I'd take a look at this again at the 20 game mark. The PPG stat has dropped to 67.4, and the field goal percentage is .438. Through 20 games last season, the scoring and field goal averages were 56 and .370, respectively. U-M now has three players averaging double-figures for the season: Reynolds 13.3 Hicks 12.8 Hollins 12.4 KP is not far behind double-digits with 9.4. It took a little longer for KP to get into the top-25 career list, but she's now at #22 with 936. With 9 guaranteed games left, she could break into the 1000-point club and end her career at #19 or #20 on the list.
