1993 to 1996 and then 1997 all over again?

From 1993 to 1996, we lost 4 games every year. No Big 10 titles. Lot's of disappointment. Coaching change in 1995. Michigan football was in a lull. THEN, the magical season of 1997 and all was forgotten. Fast forward to now. 2008 to 2009 have been unsuccessful. We've lost 9 games and 7 games respectively. Lot's of disappointment. Coaching change. Michigan football is in another lull. 2012 would be the 1997 parallel season. Would all be forgotten? Are you willing to be as patient today as you were then? Go Blue!!

The division between the Rich Rod supporters and the Rich Rod bashers/Carr supporters is amazing and has turned this place upside down.

I for one am willing to be patient---this year we get better and go to, and win a bowl!!

The 1997 season was Carr's third. 2010 will be RR's third. Hence, 2010 would be the parallel. Or, are you saying there will be a new sheriff in town by 2012?
MichFan4Life Oregon is going to beat the dog s**** out of OSU in the Rose Bowl running the zone read spread offense. OSU is going to get their teeth kicked in by Chip Kelly, who studied at the feet of RR.

No, my Buckeye genius, 1993-1997 was FIVE years. 2008-2012 would be FIVE years. That's the parallel. 4-loss seasons, 7-loss seasons, to me it doesn't make a difference. They were all failures. Go Blue!!

Wait a minute. Are you telling me that Michigan lost games before RR was hired?

The biggest difference is that while Gary Moeller wasn't the greatest X's and O's coach he and his staff recruited VERY well. Its nice to take over and have guys like CWood, Sam Sword, Streets, Jon Jasen, etc waiting in the wings.

It seems very clear you are suggesting that a coaching change pulled UM out of their "lull" with that statement.

no i think hes sugesting that it took 5 years to get the team to a NC style team. The big difference is that Moeller had done good recruiting which helped. So 4-5 years of good recruiting and we should be back on the National stage. Correct me if im wrong scottsdale.

It seems very clear you are suggesting that a coaching change pulled UM out of their "lull" with that statement. Obviously, it's not very clear since you are the only person seeing it that way. And what a surprise, you are a Buckeye. As I already stated...it's the time frame, NOT the coaching change. You have missed the entire point of the thread to engage in a who's going to be our next coach argument and that's not what this is about. Yes, it's a fact there was a coaching change in 1995, but the focus of the thread is about patience and time and if it was okay back then, it should be okay today. Go Blue!!

So, you are hoping for success in 2012 because time is on your side? Well thought out.
