This week's issue of Sports Illustrated reports that former Wolverine Brendan Morrison was traded by the New Jersey Devils by his own request. Morrison made the request to be traded after returning from a bitter holdout from the notoriously cheap Devils at the beginning of this season. The article also implies that he was sent to the Canucks (a team out of play-off contention and that has a difficult travel schedule) as punishment.
